Am I supposed to tip Walmart grocery pickup? ›

The Walmart policy is no tipping – which means, there really aren't any alternatives beyond a kind word to the person who brings your groceries out.

If you don't pick up your Walmart order in time, it will go back to the warehouse. You can pick it up there or schedule another pickup. You'll receive an email with a link to see where your order is in the process.

The same advice on tipping goes for people who prepare your drive-up or pickup orders. Technically, they aren't allowed to accept tips either—so again, don't get them into trouble. Just offer a heartfelt thank you. These people are basically doing what's now become a regular part of working at a grocery store.

Walmart charges a fee for pickup orders to help cover the costs associated with preparing and packaging the items. Typically orders under $35 will have a $6.99 fee associated with curbside pickup. Be sure to contact your local Walmart for more information.

Before drivers accept an order, the app shows both their base pay and the customer's offered tip. But that tip can change over the course of 24 hours. For example, a $15 or $20 tip at the time of pickup can dwindle to just $5 or $10 when the transaction finally clears, a North Carolina Spark driver told BI.

What if I am late to my scheduled Pickup? If you are late to your scheduled Pickup, and the Pickup window is prior to 8 p.m., you can still check in by 8 p.m. local time on the Pickup date. If you are late to check in for your Pickup order and it is after 8 p.m., you should reschedule or cancel and reorder.

Cancel your order

Select Account. Select Purchase history. Find the order you want to cancel. Scroll to the bottom and select Request Cancellation, if available.

As a blanket rule, you don't need to tip anyone who earns a salary or performs a trade. That means you don't have to tip doctors, lawyers, teachers, plumbers or cable technicians.

It is our policy that associates of the Company, regardless of their capacity, do not accept for their personal benefits, gratuities, tips, cash, samples, etc., from anyone buying from us or selling to us, or in any way serving our Company.

For pickup orders, we'll use paper bags, and customers can choose to opt-in/out with no fee at checkout. Delivery orders will be received in paper bags with a $0.10 fee per bag.

Target employees aren't allowed to accept tips from guests - it's against corporate policy. Now, I've never known a team member to turn cash down, but odds are your drive up person won't be expecting a tip from you. So don't feel pressured to tip them.
