Your opportunityYou will be part of Mollie’s Legal Craft and work closely with all other Crafts. Together with your team members, you will be working on bigger firm-wide projects. Yet, you will also be responsible for your own projects and tasks where you will report to your manager.

What you'll be doing:As a legal advisor to the business you will work across a spectrum of legal, business, product and strategic issues. You will:

• You will be part of a small team focused on solving clearly defined problem spaces.
• Explore new financial products;
• Assist Mollie in complying with applicable legal and financial regulatory requirements;
• Advise internal stakeholders on financial regulatory legal topics, product development, AML / CFT requirements, licence restrictions and requirements.
• Perform research and analysis on regulatory matters that impact the company.
• Collaborate with business partners and teams within the organisation, as well as with outside counsel and supervisory bodies.

What you'll have:

• Advanced law degree from a Dutch University, with excellent academic credentials and professional experience;
• At least 3-5 years of relevant working experience, gained at a top-tier law firm or in-house department, but people with more experience are also very welcome to apply;
• In-depth knowledge of the European payments- and fintech industry;
• Extensive experience with advising on financial regulations, including the Dutch Financial Services Act (Wet op het financieel toezicht), The Anti-Money Laundering and Anti-Terrorist Financing Act (Wet ter voorkoming van witwassen en financieren van terrorisme – Wwft) and PSD2;
• A pragmatic and commercial approach;
• Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills and adept at working with cross department colleagues;
• A willingness to jump in and do whatever needs to be done in an enthusiastic, proactive, and resourceful manner, and a strong work ethic with a high degree of accountability and organisation;
